Mercy & Mission Serving Opportunities

The Mercy & Missions Team at Calvary aims to walk with Jesus by serving those who are marginalized or vulnerable, both around the world and right here in West Michigan. This team underscores Calvary’s values of becoming a serving community and a caring family by mobilizing our collective spiritual gifts, natural talents, and the material possessions entrusted to us, to display Christ’s love and mercy. At this time, we have a few pressing needs for volunteers to join our team. Find descriptions of each role here.

Calvary’s Response to the Crisis in Ukraine

Due to the great need in the region Calvary has created the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund. These funds will be used by Mercy and Missions and the Jerusalem Project to enable the church and our mission partners to minister in Jesus’ name to those affected by the war. Through your generosity, we will be able to provide supplies to churches in Ukraine that are serving people in need, as well as mission partners and churches in neighboring countries that are caring for the refugees pouring over the borders. There are several ways you can give directly to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund: Online: at mycalvarygr.org. Enter the amount you’d like to give next to “Ukraine Crisis Relief.” Text: Text the word “Ukraine” + the dollar amount of your gift to 616-294-0700. If it’s your first time, you will be prompted to click a link to a secure giving page to…

Advent

The church calendar begins its year with Advent: a season of expectation and waiting that stretches from the fourth Sunday before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. Through our Advent Guide (produced originally in 2017), Calvary provides a weekly practice by which to walk through this season with greater intentionality. This guide follows key individuals through a portion of their biblical narrative, observing their obedience to God in bringing about His ultimate plan of redemption. Each week also asks you to consider how their stories impact your own. Throughout Advent, you will see how God redeems pain, blesses obedience, and provides for us as we wait on Him – and ultimately how He fulfills all His promises in Jesus. Join us in celebrating this season; follow along with our church-wide Advent Guide, printable copies are available at calvarygr.org/advent. On this fourth Sunday of Advent we light the love candle. Christmas is…
