Prayer Garden – Jerusalem Stone
As you can see in the construction update video showing between services, one special element included in the new prayer garden is Jerusalem stone.
Jerusalem stone is the limestone (usually white) that is found in Israel and used throughout the country’s history when constructing buildings. The temple that Solomon built (I Kings 7) and then the temple that Nehemiah rebuilt (Ezra 5) used this type of stone. By law, any building in Jerusalem today has to be constructed out of Jerusalem stone. The prayer garden committee choose to use this stone as a connection to coming to a place to worship and pray.
