Currently much of work of Grace Beyond is taking place behind the scenes.
- The Building Committee is meeting with Erhardt Construction, our construction manager, to develop a project timeline.
- The Grace Beyond Steering Committee is beginning to talk through logistical issues, including where we will worship while we are out of the sanctuary. The Committee is meeting with local colleges to talk about the possibility of using their facilities.
- Calvary staff will soon be assessing items currently in storage, purging what they can and cleaning. This is a part of the process of helping prepare the building for the builders.
As these plans and schedules are developed, the elders will be able to share logistical details with the congregation. We appreciate your patience as decisions are worked through, and covet your prayers. We hope to begin sharing this information at a Town Hall Meeting on Sunday night, Jan. 18.
At this time, we are also following a biblical model of giving for a building project established in 1 Chronicles 28 and 29 when David prepared to build the temple. In these passages, David first approached the leaders and asked them to give first toward the building so that their sacrificial giving might be an encouragement to the rest of the community of believers.
For the Grace Beyond pledge process, the elders are following this example by asking current and former elders and deacons; staff; Community Group leaders; Adult Sunday Class teachers and coordinators; advisory committee members; and other key ministry leaders to give first toward this project.
On February 15 the entire congregation will be asked to consider giving, and will receive pledge materials that will be due on Sunday, March 29.
However, if you would like to meet with a member of the Grace Beyond finance team to discuss your gift now, please contact Ron Haas (email@example.com) at 890-4414. If you would like to make gifts to Grace Beyond before pledging, simply mark that box on our new giving envelopes.
